Dotty For Dogs: Rachel Jones, Dogwalker in Hebden Bridge.
I am an experienced, dedicated and reliable dog walker based in Hebden Bridge.
I began ‘Dotty for Dogs’ nearly 10 years ago because I wanted to do something I loved doing & had a talent for. I offer a diverse, adaptable, friendly service and come highly recommended by all of my clients…and their owners(!)
I aim to keep providing the best knowledge regarding dogs as I can, and to do this I believe you cannot sit still in this occupation as I learn more about dogs on a daily basis. I ensure that my knowledge is kept up-to-date by attending regular seminars and courses presented by well respected canine trainers, behaviourists and practitioners.
I am available for dog walking, house and pet sitting and have a range of animal experience from small rodents, cats and dogs to horses, donkeys, chickens, ducks and other livestock.
I offer a service to owners who struggle to walk their dogs on a regular basis. It is ideal for those who work long hours, are on holiday, have mobility issues, or for those who have very little time on their hands and just need some extra help.
I offer at least an hour or full day, group walks in lovely countryside locations where dogs can be off their leads to play and socialise with other dogs. (Dogs can be walked on or off lead dependant on your preference and the dog’s ability to demonstrate good recall). We walk in all weathers and the areas I walk in are predominantly countryside so inevitably your dog may get wet and muddy. This is all part of their enjoyment, and I quite often get wet and muddy too! As part of my Dotty For Dogs dog walking service I will do my best to dry your dog before returning them home. It would be great if, on wet days, you could leave out towels for me to use.
I offer an free initial meet and greet consultation at your home to meet your dog and get to know their individual requirements.

Dog training requires a lot of time and intense one to one sessions. I can often offer tips and techniques for you to use at home. These aren’t dog training sessions, they are walks. I believe that ultimately the relationship between a dog and it’s owner is an integral part to training a dog. I can offer basic training in on-lead behaviour and discipline that is consistent with your own training regime. I always use positive reinforcement to encourage good behaviour. I understand that consistency is everything and always make time to treat each dog as it is; an individual.
I encourage owner feedback. I’m here to adapt to the changes as your requirements change. It’s up to you just how much you hear from us, but I’ll naturally keep you up to date with any issues or developments.
At Dotty for Dogs I understand the worry and stress of leaving your dogs in kennels, especially if your dog frets or needs extra care such as medication, so I offer a home from home service, where your dog is treated like part of the family.
Locked out or lost your keys?
It can happen to anyone. If it happens to you and I have a copy of your keys, I will come and let you in. If I am in the vicinity at the time this service is free.
N.B. I will only come to let in authorised members of your household.
You think Barbara Woodhouse knows a thing about dogs? Then you've not met Rachel! She's an excellent dog walker - reliable, knowledgable and genuinely cares for the welfare of your dog. Any little quirks and requests are respected and adhered to. She's also ace at house sitting and leaves it tidier than when you left it! Your hound will be very happy in Rachel's capable hands.
